Fix Coverity issues in cppsuite test framework

      There are currently over 40 Coverity issues related to the test framework. As part of this ticket, we should:

      • Hold a meeting to discuss and check whether these are false positives or actual issues.
      • Fix the issues (if required). 

      Latest update:

      There are only two issues remaining, see the comments section below. The other issues have been fixed through other tickets.
