Here are initial versions of some of the changes we have discussed to improve checkpoint performance under heavy write load.
@agorrod, can you please run the wtperf workload against these to see how they perform.
These changes are not ready for merge, regardless, but let's see whether the performance benefits are big enough to make fixing them worthwhile.
