This was reproduced using a default mongo shell connection and changed the collection data (with db.collection.insert command) while viewed in Compass. The Compass "cursor" was on the collection name before the Cmd-r press. Pressing Cmd-r, flashed text of "Loading databases" and a progress bar appears, but the collections data is not refreshed. Pressing the "Reload" icon (clockwise circular arrow) on the LEFT sidebar has no effect either but was expected.
Moving to another collection and back successfully refreshes the data.
Clicking the circular arrow on the RIGHT (near "Displaying Documents...") successfully refreshes the data.

This bug also exists in 1.19.3 Stable, but the Jira label for this release cannot seem to be added.
Also tested in 1.19.3 Stable is the menu command "View>Reload". It does not refresh either.
Using the ellipses on the collection to "Open in New Tab" does a successful refresh.
