Compass locks up if an invalid connection string is being entered

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Start Compass
      2. Provide `/x` as the connection string, then press enter
      3. Try to use the interface

      An “Invalid schema” message is being displayed, but the UI fully locks up regardless of that.
