What is going wrong? What action would you like the Engineering team to take?
Saw the green banner to Auto update even AFTER turning off Help>Privacy Settings>Auto Update within SECONDS of disabling it after the installation.
This explains the influx of Compass support tickets where they lose connectivity to their MongoDB clusters.

How could an engineer replicate the issue you’re reporting?
Newly installed 1.28.4 because of the downgrade and issues with regression errors in 1.29
Expected Results
What do you expect to happen?
No forced update of the Compass version. This was reported in another Jira
Actual Results
What do you observe is happening?
Compass Auto Updates without user's permission disregarding the attempt to disable it.
