Hey - as discussed at the 2015-06-15 meeting:

There was inconsistency issue with Hippo vs. Phongo regarding what type (stdClass or array) should be the top level type. We decided to made it consistent as what we already did for embedded documents, and make every document come back as a stdClass object. Type map should be changed to return top-level documents as stdClass.
