Currently the tests we have either have auth and ssl off or both on. As a result, considerable time may be spent attempting to figure out an auth issue when in fact there is an SSL issue going on, or vice versa. Having auth-nossl and noauth-ssl configurations would have saved 2 days for 1319 by making it immediately obvious that the failure was SSL-related rather than auth-related.
