      SPM-4041 implements the read path, but it is unable to be e2e tested until SPM-3830 makes the catalog cache actually provide meaningful values at runtime. This ticket is about ensuring that existing e2e tests for the timeseries read path still pass with the new read path and adding any new tests as needed for coverage.
