updateById in express_plan.h and transformAndUpdate in update_stage.cpp are nearly identical so they should be consolidated into a shared helper function. We will also be able to use the new helper when updating by record id in oplog application. We also need to be careful that this doesn't regress the performance sensitive express path in the process.
