Currently when generating a slow log we fetch storage stats information, which must be completed within 500 millis (ref and ref). If within 500 millis we are unable to fetch the information, we omit reporting this field in the logs.

christopher.harris@mongodb.com, ilan.cohen@mongodb.com and sonal.singh@mongodb.com find it beneficial for reporting the issue fetching the storageStats in the slow logs (e.g. within the storageStats field).

This would provide additional signal that storage may be overloaded.
