One of the commits done as part of SERVER-73204, we designated $searchSortValues to be a metadata field in order to prevent mongot <–> server communication details from leaking to the user.
SERVER-75010 is a custom backport of SERVER-73204 which requires the same functionality. This ticket requests a a backport of just https://github.com/mongodb/mongo/commit/51978c789c65469bb257d697b33405afe46f6d8c.
