I think the only reason they depend on archive_dist_test_debug currently is because of the hang analyzer. Now that we will be doing our analysis in a generated task, the generated task can depend on archive_dist_test_debug while the normal task depends on archive_dist_test.
One other problem Alex mentioned is when spawning a debug host from evergreen it expects the debug symbols to be present so a workaround might be needed for that.
