As part of our effort to deprecate the use of the jstests/sharding environment, we are migrating some existing test cases under the noPassthrough folder. This action is causing a loss of code coverage, since this folder isn't currently targeted by test variants that instantiate non-default sharded clusters (e.g. with embedded config server, embedded router and/or RS endpoint). The objective of this ticket is to close such a gap.
