The WT utility "write" command currently supports an "-o" command option, meaning overwrite an existing record. In recent testing of the "write" command, an existing record can be overwritten even if no "-o" option is specified, which is unexpected.

We should double-check the intended usage of the "-o" command option, and fix the undesired behavior if confirmed.

It seems that the append option has the same issue, this ticket should look into it as well.
