StorEng - Defined Pipeline
It would sometimes be useful to gather generic information about the shape of a table or database. I'm thinking of something similar to the wt verify dump_pages but with all of the information redacted.
Ideally we would be able to find out:
- Tree depth
- Internal page sizes
- Leaf page sizes
- Key count and size
- Value count and size
Ideally the format would be quite compact, so a table that is hundreds of GBs generates a reasonably sized "dump" file, which could then be retrieved and analyzed.
