Time-series arbitrary updates will not be released in the near future, but it's been tested in all-feature-flag test variants for years. This creates a gap in all-feature-flag testing coverage, since the released meta-only updates will not be exercised there along with other new features under development. While there are tests for the originally release meta-only updates not tagged with arbitrary update feature flag, this delays the discovery of issues for new projects, like viewless time-series collections, until their feature flags are enabled by default.
